Especially considering everything else you've already done to the car! Don't get me wrong, it's hard work -all the bolts have pretty high torque values- but it's not complicated. I feel like a proper fool for having waited so long. I'm glad to hear you've not fallen prey to the same flawed reasoning. I...Tim, Thanks for your timely post on suspension. It turns out that my car is now 1 inch lower after conversion, and my front tires rub when going over bumps. I didn't think an extra 250 lbs in front would make such a big difference but the stock springs are only 110 lbs/in. I have the same apprehension you described, but you gave me the courage to dive-in sooner than later. New springs are on order.Joeyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01042435434585986098noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-369941762441967690.post-35315857382999289902013-06-08T01:37:36.333-07:002013-06-08T01:37:36.333-07:00Oh, and here's an old video of my first run of...Oh, and here's an old video of my first run of the MR2 before I replaced the struts. My 1986 Toyota MR2 EV had 131k miles on it when I started my conversion, and the suspension was definitely in need of replacement.

I got new Tokico performance struts and coil overs from Ground Control and the car handled much better as well.

Yes, I agree, taking out the springs was a bit nerve wracking for me too.

KenKen Chianghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17426022800313333472noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-369941762441967690.post-34421021665123037982013-05-26T08:30:59.961-07:002013-05-26T08:30:59.961-07:00Hi Randy,

Unfortunately, since the convention was moved to August I've run into a time conflict and can't make it. Hopefully I'll make it next year.
