Charger Plug Completed

The charger plug under the gas cap is complete!

Notice the little green switch at the top. That's the kill switch I spoke of in the last post. I admit that it's not the prettiest thing I've built, but it should do the trick. Now to decide what to tackle tomorrow...

So why did you choose to put a male connector on the outside of the car? And are you planning to plug it directly into a standard 220 outlet? I'd assume it was to make it easier to buy extension cords since they almost always are M-F, but you know what happens when we make assumptions...

I'll be plugging it into a 220 outlet using a heavy duty extension cord. And you're correct, since extension cords always come with a female plug on the end you run to your appliance, the car ( which is the appliance in this circumstance) has to have a male end.

I also built, but haven't shown here, an adapter that will let me run a standard 110 plug to the car. The charger will accept either.

"Ah, she goes both ways."

That is awesome.
